Established in the 1930s, the Quarterdeck is truly one of Nova Scotia’s hidden treasures. Perched on spectacular Summerville Beach, over a kilometer and a half of pristine white sand, the Quarterdeck has been a popular travel destination for more than 85 years. Centrally located on Nova Scotia’s South Shore, the Quarterdeck is just 1.5 hours from Halifax, Yarmouth and Annapolis Royal.
For nearly a century, the Quarterdeck has been evolving. From its origins as a roadside canteen serving hot dogs to earning the reputation as the South Shore’s foremost destination for authentic maritime hospitality and fresh, inspired Nova Scotian cuisine. As a Taste of Nova Scotia member, our Grill is focused on serving up traditional flavours and new favorites with an eye on sustainability and local sourcing.
The property consists of a variety of accommodations to meet every taste. Spacious Beach Villas, cozy Shoreline Rooms and a large 3 Bedroom Suite are just steps from the beach, while our stunning and modern Lofts command an amazing view from the hillside, overlooking the beach and Summerville Provincial Park.
A Recreation Centre houses a small indoor pool, fitness centre, sauna, eighteen seat theatre and lounging room with games.

Perfect location for a beach holiday, you walk out the door of your villa and you’re literately on the white sand beach, over a kilometre in length. Rooms have a full kitchen, two baths, etc. Super clean with no signs of wear and tear.
