A Little Mermaid Gets a Sparkling Makeover
At the Grill, we love when art and community come together in unexpected ways. One of our most beloved pieces is our wooden mermaid sculpture, which has been with us for over a decade. She first hung in our previous restaurant and has remained a signature art piece ever since, delighting countless guests with her whimsical charm.

In 2024, two young visitors, Ella and Mabel, noticed something important—the mermaid was missing a top! Their keen eyes and creative spirit didn’t let that go unnoticed. Fast forward a year, and these thoughtful girls returned with a surprise: a handmade pearl bra they had created just for her.
We couldn’t resist putting it on our mermaid and capturing the moment in a photo. While she might not be able to wear this beautiful accessory forever, it was a heartwarming reminder of the joy and imagination that our guests bring to our space.
It’s moments like these—small, thoughtful gestures—that make our restaurant feel more than just a place to eat. It’s a place where memories are made, creativity is celebrated, and art lives on through the eyes of those who see it.
Thank you, Ella and Mabel, for bringing a little extra sparkle to our mermaid. You’ve reminded us that magic can show up when we least expect it.
